November 4

Obama Pictures, Images and Photos
As you probably know, since its impossible to miss, Tuesday, November 4th is Election Day! As you can see from the picture above, you know my pick! I have never been that interested in politics until Election day four years ago when our country made one of the biggest mistakes ever! Since then I have paid more attention and really done my research on the candidates! I'm so excited and I can hardly wait! Please don't forget to vote!

Apples

Today we went to the Apple festival in Charlottesville. Apple picking isn't as easy as I always thought it was. But nevertheless we had a good time, and I got some yummy golden delicious apples and apple cider. If you are interested here is where we went, http://www.cartermountainorchard.com/

Three

Oh to be three...Max turned three years old today! What a great age! No worries, lots of toys, you still get to take a nap, and you get to play as much as you want. What could be better. Yesterday was his birthday party and the main attraction was the Dinosaur cake! Right before the cake was served he and a few of his friends were chanting "CAKE, CAKE, CAKE"!!.
As you can see below two years ago at his first birthday, the boy loves cake!

Tattoo

Friday night me and the girls went downtown to a club/bar called Tattoo. I normally don't like these types of places, I'm more of a bar bar girl is what I like to say. So I was surprised when I actually liked this bar Tattoo. It had great photographs on the wall of really cool tattoos and played really great music! I could have done without the little 21 year old military boys but besides that we had a great time.

Juanita

My Dearest Juan,

Happy birthday to you! I wish you all the joy you can imagine! Thank you for always always always being there for me no matter what! I'm so glad you were born! Happy Birthday!

Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the day that my nephew will be born into this world! Life is so amazing, yes I know its such a common thing for people to say, I can truly say that I didn't quite get it until my brother had his daughter, now my sister with her son! I'm sure one day when I have a child of my own it will be even that much more amazing. Tomorrow I will stare in wonder at his little fingers and toes, at his face...and I can't wait. Tomorrow will be his birthday!

Milk and Cookies

I was at a bar last night that actually serves Milk and cookies! I thought it was so clever! They weren't the best cookies but just being able to order something so simple and warm and comforting!

September 20

My nephew is "scheduled" to be born on September 20th, a week from tomorrow. I'm so excited to meet him and see his face! I can't wait to hold his little hand and snuggle with him! In preparation I decided to look up this date in history. As expected there were some pretty cool people who were born on September 20th over the years. Two years ago on September 20 my cousin's twin girls were born, Ava and Olivia. Upton Sinclair, an American author was born on this date in 1878. Gunnar and Matthew Nelson also share this birth date, remember them? A few others are Gary Cole, Sophia Loren, Ben Shepherd, and Kristen Johnston. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_20

French Fries, Hospitals, and Babies

Hi, I just got home from Sibley Memorial Hospital. My sister, Cat, is 37 weeks pregnant and while at work today she fell as she was walking to "get more french fries"! We can laugh about it now because Cat and baby are both fine but there was a little scare for a bit. She went to the hospital to be checked out and after five hours was sent home. They monitored her and the baby, took some blood, did an ultrasound, and took her blood pressure several times. Once all those things were good she was allowed to go home. Good news is that Cat and the baby are both fine, except for a few bruises. Bad news is that little baby boy is breech. I'm really hoping that he turns so that Cat won't have to have a C-section, I also would like to experience his birth. I can't wait to meet him!

Shunny's girls

While I was in Richmond I also got to spend some time with one of my very good friends Lindsay and her girls Kaitlyn and Ashley. Lindsay and I were roomates in college and were always together for many years. I miss her so much and was so happy to spend some time with her and the girls!

Pink is the new black

I spent the weekend in Richmond with Kelly, Gray and Max. Kelly and I spent most of our time painting the nursery getting ready for their baby girl due in November. We painted the whole room pink. Once that was done we spent today painting stripes on one wall. If you have never done stripes using tape before, its actually a bit confusing. Once we got past a few errors we had a system down. Check out our handy work below. I'm sure baby girl Jackson is going to LOVE her room!

16-7

Hail to the Redskins...oh wait, they didn't win the Giants did, 16-7. Well at least we got to sing their praise for ONE touchdown. Oh well there's always next week, right? It's only the first game of the season and although they didn't come out with a bang, I have faith that wearing my jersey each week will help! :-)

You would think

You would think that tonight when I fed my kitties, Oliver and Lucy, some soft cat food that their world had turned upside down! When they were kittens I fed them a little bit of soft food every day, but that stopped when they were about six months old. Tonight I got them some hoping that it would tide them over till morning so that they will stop waking me up at 4am every morning! Needless to say, it is like Kitty crack! They have been non stop since they ate about two hours ago!

Paul the crab...

So my best friend Kelly's son Max recently got a hermit crab. Max is almost three so he absolutely loved his new pet. Kelly asked Max when they brought the crab home what he would like to name it, Max answered "Paul", such a funny name for a hermit crab. Today, Paul the Hermit crab passed away. When Max got home he went to Paul's cage and asked Kelly "where Paul go?", so Kelly told him that Paul needed to go shopping for a bigger shell. Max, totally content with that answer said "ok", and walked away. RIP Paul the crab!

Bellalina

On Friday I took my niece Isabella to get photos taken professionally. What an experience. After two outfit changes, three hours, a feeding, and some tears we were finally done. Check out the beautiful girl! What do you think? Pretty good, huh?

Laborless day

Labor Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September. The holiday originated in 1882 as the Central Labor Union (of New York City) sought to create "a day off for the working citizens". Labor day, I've always found that its an interesting name for a holiday...regardless I enjoy it. It signals the end of summer but also the start of a really nice time of the year! It reminds us of the upcoming changing of the leaves, holidays, and winter. I'm really not a fan of winter but I do love the holidays, so I'll take the good and the bad.

NieNie

Recently I read a story about a family in turmoil. Stephanie and Christian are the parents of four young children. They recently were in a plane crash on August 16 and are in critical condition in the burn unit at an Arizona hospital. They both have months of recovery and surgeries ahead of them. If you would like to donate to their financial welfare, please click on the button below. All funds will go directly to Stephanie & Christian and will help pay for their medical bills as well as their household management as they recover.

Primero Post

Hi, thanks for reading my blog. This is my first post on my first blog. For the past year I have begun reading blogs on a daily basis. There are about ten that I read and are from people as far away as Australia. I find it incredibly intriguing to take a little peak into other people's lives, so I decided to start my own. I hope you enjoy reading...
